there once was a birdie who loved to fly. and fly, fly she would through the night sky. the other birds would say “come down here on this wire, we’ll talk about things until we tire”. but birdie had no interest in wire sitting. she found the night air much, much too fitting. “what makes birdie think she’s so great? the other birds would speculate. “what right does a little bird hold, to fly solitary, so alone and bold? birdie liked the other birds just fine, but didn’t care to sit on a line. “the world is much bigger than here, full of many things you shouldn’t fear! ledges and wires twice as high, and buildings that reach upwards into the sky!” birdie exclaimed.
but the other birds just laughed and said “we won’t go, you go instead!” “if you’re so brave and better than us, than leave this place without a fuss!” so off birdie went to places unknown, and for the very first time, she felt alone.
